To qualify for the Environmental Quality Incentives Program in Wisconsin, many livestock producers may need to develop a comprehensive nutrient management plan. Producers can develop their own Nutrient Management Plan but in order to develop a CNMP an outside resource is needed for the process. Wisconsin’s Natural Resource Conservation Service is providing significant funding to livestock producers for developing CNMPs.

Environmental Management Solutions is an NRCS approved Technical Service Provider and able to work with Wisconsin livestock producers to provide sound, accurate, and compliant CNMPs. Dennis Pate who recently retired from the Iowa NRCS, coordinates the CNMP process for EMS.

The company has experience developing comprehensive nutrient plans in Wisconsin. One such plan was developed for Lynn Harrison of Elk Mound, Wisconsin. “Approaching environmental issues on our farm with sound-science and practical experience was very important. EMS brought that background when they completed our comprehensive nutrient management plans,” says Harrison.

EMS assists livestock producers in meeting government regulations and operational efficiencies in the areas of conservation planning, environment, animal welfare, and third party verification.
