2011/2012 Certified Livestock Manager training workshops scheduled
The 2011-12 Certified Livestock Manager (CLM)Training Workshop dates have been set, with the first workshop scheduled for Dec. 7 in Bloomington, Ill. Eleven additional CLM Training workshops, sponsored by University of Illinois Extension, have been scheduled throughout the state from January through early March.

PQA Plus Advisor certification session Oct. 18
Veterinarians and others in Iowa’s pork industry have the opportunity to become Pork Quality Assurance Plus Advisors under the National Pork Board's PQA Plus program. The certification process requires attendance at a daylong training session and passing an exam at the conclusion of that session. The Iowa Pork Industry Center (IPIC) at Iowa State University (ISU) will hold one such training Oct. 18.

Webcast offers air-emissions answers, Sept. 16
It’s been four years, but the National Air Emissions Monitoring Study (or NAEMS) has findings to report to the U.S. animal agriculture sector. The effort began in 2007 as a result of a consent agreement between certain animal commodity groups and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.

Pork producers can earn their individual certification for Pork Quality Assurance Plus (PQA Plus) at a free training on Sept. 8 at the 4-H Family Center located on the Le Sueur County Fairgrounds, Highway 99, Le Center. The PQA Plus training begins at 7 p.m.
