Breeding and Gestation Management classes
March 24, March 31, April 7 and April 12
Enrollment is open for a four-session educational program on breeding and
gestation management practices. The classes are sponsored by the national pork checkoff and Minnesota Pork Board’s Swine Training Program educational series.
The classes take place March 24, March 31, April 7 and April 12. The first
three classes begin with a Noon lunch, and run fto 4 p.m. The final session
on April 12 is a hands-on segment from 8:30 a.m. to Noon or from 1 p.m. to
4:30 p.m. The classroom sessions take place in the administration building
at the University of Minnesota Southern Research and Outreach Center in
Waseca, Minn., The hands-on portion takes place at the center’s research
The registration fee is $100 per person, which includes materials, lunches,
breaks, instructors’ fees, and biosecurity clothing to wear for the hands-on

The class curriculum is designed for swine operation owners and facility
employees. Instructors for the classes will be experienced swine industry
professionals and University of Minnesota faculty. Direct specific questions about

farrowing management, and nursery management.
