Police have arrested a suspect in connection with the Patrick Cudahy plant blaze last week near Milwaukee, Wis. According to the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, Kurtis Popp, 25, is suspected of touching off the blaze when he shot off a flare on the night of July 5.

Also under investigation in the fire case is  Popp’s brother, Joshua Popp, 23, a California resident who is suspected of giving the flare to his brother. The fire, which burned for two days, caused an estimated $50 million damage to the plant.

The two suspects were having fun at a Fourth of July weekend barbecue and “were just being idiots,” according to a woman identifying herself as the mother of the two.
