The American Humane Association has launched a new Web site, It is targeted as a resource for consumers, producers, retailers and the foodservice industry to learn more about animal-welfare standards.

The association already offers the American Humane Certified product label as a voluntary, fee-based service. That certification program includes an independent, third-party audited verification that the care and handling of animals on participating farms meet strict animal-welfare standards. Producers who meet the standards may use the American Humane Certified label on their products.

The new Web site also provides a secure American Humane Certified producer's section with auditing and management tools.
