The American Humane Association has appointed Tim Amlaw as program manager for its American Humane Certified program. He will promote best practices for the humane treatment of farm animals and attempt to increase the number of producers certified by American Humane.
The American Humane Certified program guarantees consumers that products bearing the American Humane Certified label are from animals that were raised and treated humanely. American Humane Certified, established in 2000, also recently became a member of the American Meat Institute.
Amlaw’s experience in the agricultural and beef industries will help American Humane increase the number of producers that the program will certify for humane treatment in addition to focusing on the latest scientific and production developments in the industry.
