Move over, McRib – there’s a new kid in town.

According to USA Today, Burger King is set to unveil its 2013 summer menu on Thursday, which will include a new, limited-time BK Rib Sandwich.

Much like McDonald’s McRib, the BK Rib Sandwich is boneless with a tangy sauce. It will be sold nation-wide starting on May 21.

"Our guests have grown to look for a variety of options," Eric Hirschhorn, vice president of global innovation, told USA Today. "It's not just about beef anymore, but other proteins like chicken and turkey and pork."

Other summer roll-outs include the BBQ Chicken Salad, new Oreo desserts and the turn to Memphis Pulled Pork sandwiches.

As for McDonald’s, executives don’t seem concerned about Burger King’s new rib sandwich.

"We know our customers love McRib and we won't disappoint them," McDonald’s spokeswoman Danya Proud said. "It will be returning."

This isn't the first time Burger King has put ribs on their menu. In 2010 the popular fast-food restaurant launched on-the-bone Fire-Grilled Ribs.
