Pork net sales were unchanged this week, according to the USDA’s latest “U.S. Export Sales” report released on Thursday.

The report showed that net sales of 7,200 MT for 2013 were reported, primarily for Mexico (3,000 MT), Canada (800 MT), South Korea (800 MT), Hong Kong (700 MT), and China (700 MT).  Exports of 10,000 MT were primarily to Mexico (3,700 MT), South Korea (1,300 MT), Japan (1,200 MT), Hong Kong (1,100 MT), and Canada (1,000 MT).   

Hog futures surged on Wednesday but set back overnight, marking a negative reaction to the monthly Cold Storage report. June hog futures declined 0.60 cents to 93.95 cents/pound early Thursday morning, while December futures lost 0.35 cents to 79.15.
