(AP) A road in central Pennsylvania had to be shut down after a tractor-trailer full of pigs crashed and tipped over on the highway.

The accident happened Sunday on Route 42 in Columbia County, outside Catawissa. WNEP-TV reports (http://bit.ly/onyxEW ) that state police say the driver lost control and the rig tipped over.

There were more than 150 pigs aboard. Some were killed in the crash, but others were loaded onto another rig.

Police say the driver was taken to the hospital to get checked out. The crash remains under investigation.
