About 60 hogs were killed when a semitrailer rolled in the ditch near the southeastern South Dakota town of Delmont.

The Daily Republic reports (http://bit.ly/q1wFik ) that the semi was hauling a stock trailer with 178 hogs Wednesday night. Highway Patrol Trooper Mike Peterson says some of the surviving hogs were injured.

The semi driver, Randy Sieck of Ireton, Iowa, was not hurt. Peterson says Sieck was cited for careless driving.
