The National Pork Board (NPB) has approved funding for production of a new television commercial for its ‘Pork. Be Inspired’ advertising campaign. Production for the commercial is set to begin this fall.

“The ‘Pork. Be Inspired’ advertising campaign is going well,” said Ceci Snyder, NPB Vice President, Domestic Marketing. “Through March, domestic pork expenditures are up 1.6 percent. However, we know that retail pork prices are higher so we want to stress pork’s versatility and convenience.”

“We need to continually promote our products and the new commercial will remind consumers about the versatility of pork,” Snyder adds, The new commercial will be the second for the campaign.

Typically, pork demand eases in the April-May time period and rises in the fall, according to Snyder. “Our message will promote pork as consumers begin thinking of the grilling season so they will consider pork during the summer.”

The new commercial, to cost around $550,000, is expected to air beginning in early 2013.
