A South Dakota man is facing up to a decade in prison after pleading guilty to stealing and selling 121 market hogs in northwestern Iowa.

Officials in Lyon County, Iowa, arrested and charged Joshua J. Nygaard of Centerville, S.D., for his crimes in January. See, “Man charged with allegedly stealing 121 hogs.”

In early July, Nygaard entered a plea of guilty to Theft 1st in the First Degree, a Class C Felony, according to KIWA Radio. 

Nygaard was sentenced to an indeterminate prison sentence not to exceed ten years. He was also ordered to pay victim restitution, court costs and jail fees. Read more here.
