"The fair is the perfect place for people to join us in sharing a deep appreciation for the hardworking men and women who put food on our tables and clothes on our backs," says Nancy Doll, representing Farm Bureau Financial Services. "We’re pleased to have this opportunity to tip our hat to Iowa’s farm families and are thrilled to see so many folks at the fair joining the effort."
The giant card is located in Farm Bureau Park, across the street from the grandstand on the Iowa State Fairgrounds in Des Moines, Iowa. Other activities include in the area include a giveaway for a Big Green Egg grill/smoker and a "Say thanks to a farmer" photo backdrop.
Farmers often aren't recognized for their hard work, the back-breaking hours and the tremendous responsibilities they face on a daily basis. This giant card at the State Fair helps consumers realize their food starts somewhere other than the grocery store.
The Iowa State Fair runs from Thursday, August 8 through Sunday, August 18.
