Hormel execs are considering expanding the Progressive Processing plant in Dubuque, Iowa, with more lines and hence, more employees. According to a company spokesman, Hormel is applying for incentives and Dubuque is one of the possibilities being explored.

The plant opened in 2010 and is one of four plants that produce Hormel Compleats microwave meals. It was the first new production facility the company had built in more than 25 years.

The company said at the time that at maximum capacity it could employ up to 300 people. Expansion at the plant would mean 91 new jobs and a $31 million capital investment to add two production lines.
