Farmweld, Inc., a leader and innovator in the swine equipment industry for more than 30 years, is introducing its patent-pending R Adjust™ feeder adjustment system at the 2014 World Pork Expo in Des Moines, Iowa, on June 4-6.
“In a business where feed savings is at top of mind, it’s important to offer feeders that give operators maximum feed efficiency, and there is nothing out there like the R Adjust with its fine-tune, infinite feeder settings,” said Frank Brummer, President, Farmweld, Inc.
Available on all Farmweld feeders, the R Adjust provides infinite control over feed adjustments, better control over feed costs, and easier management—all with no more clicks. The R Adjust’s assembly uses a combination of tension, friction, and leverage for concise control over feed dispersion.
R.D. Waddington has been using the Shelf Feeder with the R Adjust on his farm since last September. “We used to have feeders that you had to adjust every day,” Waddington says. “R Adjust has the handle and the friction disk. It’s just a matter of moving that handle. It’s simple.”
“In fact, there’s another contract grower who asks where I have my feeders set, so he has an idea where to set his,” Waddington says. “Because each Farmweld feeder with R Adjust is consistent from feeder to feeder and they’re so easy to adjust, I can tell him exactly where to set his feeders at a particular time.”
To provide consistent settings from feeder to feeder, before leaving Farmweld, assemblers ensure that every feeder is calibrated on each side of the feeder. This consistent calibration combined with infinite accuracy allows producers to tell their operators exactly where to set each feeder with R Adjust during each phase of growth.
“We also wanted the numeric settings to be easy to read, so we put the numbering system on the top of the R Adjust rather than on the face like most other systems,” said Ryan Jansen, Farmweld Engineer. “It’s much easier for the operator to read the settings from the top rather than looking inside the feeder to check the settings.
It’s also much easier to then replicate those settings across the entire operation and ensure equal feed delivery.”
See the R Adjust in action at the World Pork Expo, Booth 722 in the Varied Industries Building. Farmweld will have an unassembled R Adjust on hand, so visitors can see how it’s going to advance the industry.
