Cold Storage: Frozen pork supplies up from March

Frozen pork supplies climbed 8 percent from March to April but dropped 3 percent from April 2012.

According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s “Cold Storage” report on Wednesday, total red meat supplies in freezers rose 5 percent this month.

Stocks of pork bellies were up a whopping 10 percent from last month, climbing from 51.47 million pounds to 56.38 million pounds. However, these stocks were 25 percent lower than last year.
