Christensen Farms and Feedlots, Inc. announced today that it has acquired the assets of Exetare Partnership, LLP, a Clarkfield, Minn.-based pork production company. The transaction closed on January 30, 2014.

“The acquisition of the Exetare business fits extremely well with our strategic growth objectives,” said Glenn L. Stolt, Chief Executive Officer. “It is a natural extension of our business model and our geographic presence.”

Founded in the early 1990’s, Exetare Partnership, LLP was a privately-owned, farrow-to--finish pork production company with operations in western Minnesota. The Exetare system has approximately 50 employees with roughly 15,000 sows and has relationships with 30 contract producers.

“Exetare is a well-managed, successful and profitable company,” added Stolt. “We welcome the opportunity to work with the management team, employees and contract producers of the Exetare system. They have clearly supported the historical success of the company and we welcome them to the Christensen Farms team.”

Founded in 1974 as a small family operation, Christensen Farms is now one of the largest producers of quality pork products in the United States, with operations throughout the Upper Midwest and headquartered in Sleepy Eye, Minnesota. Christensen Farms is also a shareholder of Triumph Foods, LLC. Triumph Foods is located in St. Joseph, Missouri and is a leading processor of pork products for both the domestic and global marketplace.
