Wendy’s Baconator sandwich will get a new kick. The Dublin, Ohio-based fast-food giant has announced the launch of a spicy version of The Baconator, which will be available at the chain's 6,250 locations in the United States and Canada through mid-April.

The Spicy Baconator features six strips of bacon, two hamburger patties, two slices of pepper jack cheese, chipotle ranch sauce and jalapenos. It is an updated take on Wendy's original Baconator, which was launched in June 2007 and has sold more than 68 million units.

"It's another example of how we're continuing to innovate, bring new items to our menu and more fully leverage our core strengths," said Paul Kershisnik, interim chief marketing officer of Wendy's.
