The new National Swine Nutrition Guide will arrive this month with a series of regional training courses organized by the U.S. Pork Center of Excellence. The guide, funded by a United Soybean Board grant, was developed in collaboration with land-grant universities, agri-businesses and the USPCE. It consists of nutrition fact sheets, nutrient recommendation tables, and diet formulation and evaluation software.
The Swine Nutrition Guide will be distributed and explained at a series of regional conferences. For those attending one of the conferences, the guide will be included with an $80 conference registration. It also will be available for purchase separately for $125.
The remaining regional conferences will be held Feb. 11 in Raleigh, N.C.; Feb. 17 in Kansas City, Mo.; Feb. 24 in Indianapolis; March 5 in Sioux City, Iowa; and March 11 in Owatonna, Minn.

Members of the National Swine Nutrition Guide Steering Committee will administer the training conferences.
“This development effort has been a great collaboration between the U.S. Pork Center of Excellence, several Extension swine nutritionists and all the major feed companies,” says David Meisinger, USPCE director. “The result is a reference book and software that will be of great value to the pork industry for years to come.”
