Pork producers now have another way to maximize their business’ profitability and minimize risks. The Market Journal Toolbox offers 16 video and PowerPoint educational sessions that provide information in agricultural marketing and risk management. The 30- to 60-minute segments are designed and packaged to provide advice and strategies that producers can apply immediately, says Darrell Mark, Universityof Nebraska.

University Extension personnel developed the Toolbox sessions, which include: Introduction to the Toolbox, Cost of Production, Crop Insurance, Livestock Insurance, Government Programs, Cash-market Contracts, Futures Markets, Futures Hedging, Options Market, Hedging with Options and New Generation Grain Contracts.

The CDs include written summaries of each section, a tool selector, toolbox checklist, glossary of terms and cost-of-production spreadsheets. Cost for the 16-part toolbox is $349. To order, visit http://MarketJournal.unl.edu. Click on Market Journal Toolbox, or call (800) 755-7765.
