Issues that concern U.S. pork producers will be the topic of “conversation” on a new National Pork Producers Council blog. NPPC has launched “Hogs on the Hill” in an effort to reach out to interested readers with current updates on issues that impact U.S. pork production.

NPPC officials are concerned that certain media outlets have not been responsive to NPPC’s rebuttals to editorials and stories critical of the U.S. pork industry. They believe the blog will help overcome these shortfalls by providing an opportunity to more fully detail NPPC’s position in an easily accessible forum.

Blog posts will include comments on NPPC issues, commentary on topical matters, rebuttals to negative editorials and articles, and blurbs on items such as USDA’s quarterly Hogs & Pigs Report. Naturally, visitors will be able to comment on the posts as well.

The goal is to post daily updates, and NPPC encourages visitors to check it frequently.
