Hormel Foods Corp. will be partnering with the Culinary Institute of America to provide a leadership program that will involve selected U.S. chefs.

“We want to invest in the future of the culinary arts, creating an innovation-focused program to prepare today’s best and brightest for leadership in the field,” says Dennis Goettsch, Hormel’s vice president of marketing, foodservice division.

Known as the Culinary Enrichment and Innovation Program, Hormel and the CIA created the program not only to build tomorrow’s culinary leaders, but also to address employee retention issues in the foodservice business by providing creative staff development.

To start, 16 students will attend four, three-day sessions at CIA’s Hyde Park, N.Y., campus over a period of 18 months. Each educational module will include classroom instruction from a select group of CIA Certified Master Chefs and personal interaction with leading culinary experts, as well as hands-on kitchen experiences.

The program’s graduates will receive advanced certification from CIA and become members of the

Hormel Circle
of Innovation.
