The American Association of Swine Veterinarians and the National Pork Board have collaborated to create “A producer’s guide to managing porcine circovirus associated disease.”

The 18-page, color brochure describes PCVAD-related clinical symptoms and emphasizes the need for a laboratory diagnosis. It explains the role of herd veterinarians in diagnosing and treating the disease complex. Finally, it outlines the steps to take for each stage of production after PCVAD has been diagnosed within a production system.

Electronic copies of the brochure are on the AASV Web site at www.aasv.org; look under “Publications.” Print copies of the brochure are available at no charge to U.S. pork producers and industry educators. You can go to The Pork Store at www.porkstore.pork.org. From there, click on “Resources,” then on “Swine Health.”
