There’s always plenty of hospitality at the National Pork Board’s hospitality tent at World Pork Expo, but this year there’s so much more.
“We want to give more pork producers a chance to see all of the things that their checkoff dollars are working on,” says Cindy Cunningham, vice president of communications for NPB.
The NPB hospitality tent will be located in the same easy-to-find spot as in past years — just look for the “We Care” trailer and big orange streamers. There you’ll find a stage featuring continuous activities such as a farm radio show presented each day at noon. At 10:15 a.m. and 2:15 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday, and again on Friday at 10:15 a.m., you can catch the daily market and weather reports. You can hear a variety of interviews and have a chance to participate in a question-and-answer session with NPB leadership.
Of course there will be pork, including some unique items such as maple-glazed bacon donut holes, bacon ice cream, pig ears and chocolate-cover bacon. Tasty ribs will be offered during MusicFest on Thursday. Chef demonstrations will round out the pork offering, including a chef from Mexico who will share insights about your product in that market.
In fact, you’ll get a first-hand look at what has become your most dramatic growth market — exports. Visit with U.S. Meat Export Federation folks and see how U.S. pork is scoring fans elsewhere in the world.
There will be free gifts and door prizes as well. “We encourage all producers to come by,” Cunningham says. “There will be fun, food and information; it’s a great place to spend some time at World Pork Expo and meet up with friends.”
