DaBurger — a new pork burger — made its professional sports debut at Soldier Field this fall at Chicago Bears games. The half-pound pork burger will be served three different ways, all of which will feature another pork superstar — bacon.

DaBurger was developed with diehard Chicago sports fans in mind, says Erin Cleary, director of marketing and education for the Illinois Pork Producers Association.

“The Illinois Pork Producers are proud to introduce DaBurger, for those times when an ordinary burger just doesn’t cut it,” she adds. “One that respects a passion for pigskin and pork.”

The three options include:

• The Pork BLT — pork burger with bacon, lettuce, tomato and dijonnaise.

• The Bacon Cheddar Delight — pork burger with bacon, cheddar, grilled onions and BBQ sauce.

• Pork 3-Ways — pork burger with pulled pork and bacon topped with cheddar and BBQ sauce.

A specially made cart will keep DaBurgers hot and juicy and allow each DaBurger to be custom-assembled. Further upping pork’s exposure, Illinois Pork Producers offered free samples of grilled ground pork during the first four Bears home games.

“Let’s be completely honest. Between DaBurgers and the ground pork samples at the stadium, we’re trying to get more ground pork on your plate at home,” Cleary adds. “In the spirit of the ‘Pork: Be Inspired’ campaign, we’re hoping inspired Bears fans will eat more pork.”
