Ethnic fusion cuisine is one of the year’s hottest trends, and the National Pork Board is promoting innovative, easy recipes to help families go global in the kitchen with pork during the holidays.
“To attract media attention during this busy time of year, we’ve taken a unique angle with our holiday program,” says Traci Rodemeyer, manager of pork information for NPB. “Few foods are as international as pork, so we’re encouraging consumers to take their taste buds on a trip with delicious new dishes.”
As the world’s most widely consumed protein, pork pairs well with nearly any flavor profile and is easy to prepare. To remind consumers about the many benefits of pork, the NPB is joining efforts with Common Threads, a non-profit organization that fosters an appreciation for cultural diversity through cooking.
To spread the news, the NPB is working with 30 of the nation’s leading food publications, including Gourmet, Real Simple and the Food Network Magazine. The NPB also has developed an Internet press kit and full-color food page.
All of the promotions encourage consumers to visit www.TheOtherWhiteMeat.com for more global recipe ideas and cooking tips with pork. “The holidays are all about bringing food and family together, and pork’s versatility can infuse international flavor into any celebration,” Rodemeyer says.
