The National Pork Board has teamed up with pork packers, state pork producerorganizations and retailers to promote pork at 2007 college football games. The promotion will take place insix states including Colorado, Washington, Oregon, Idaho, California and Utah. Rick O’Fallon, NPB's retail marketing manager, western division, says, “these promotions have the potential to be huge sellers for pork, since these are big-name teams and big games.”
College football offers a tremendous viewer consumer base and tailgating is a natural location for pork consumption. “College football makes this a great promotion for America’s Pork Producers”, O’Fallon adds. Football games in the selected states will be targeted from September into November.
