The Merck Veterinary Manual is now available free of charge online at www.merckvetmanual.com.

Merck Publishing Group, in cooperation with Merial, publishes this comprehensive reference on the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of animal disease. The two companies launched the online version at the 139th Annual Meeting of the American Veterinary Medical Association.

"For the first time, this manual is now available as an interactive tool, with electronic search capabilities at the click of a mouse," says Gary Zelko, publisher, Merck Publishing Group.

The Merck Veterinary Manual includes information on diverse topics from emergency medicine and critical care to nutrition and disorders of small and large animals.

Chapters cover various diseases including gastrointestinal, spinal column and cord, hepatic, congenital heart and respiratory. There’s also information on food allergies, lameness and wound management.

The manual also can be accessed through the Merial Web site at www.merial.com.
