As a way to enhance its Hispanic marketing program, the National Pork Board has introduced a new Spanish-language brochure. It features nutritional information, cooking directions and storage tips for various pork cuts.
NPB developed the booklet to encourage the growing population of U.S./Hispanic
consumers to buy more pork. Traditionally, Hispanic consumers enjoy eating pork, but they are quite concerned about the quality and safety of the meat. This stems in part to bad experiences in their home countries.
The U.S. Census estimates that Hispanics total 14 percent of the entire U.S. population. Hispanics are now the largest ethnic minority group in the United States.
This is one area where the U.S. pork industry can capitalize on the freshness and quality of its pork, say NPB officials.
