Consumers trust and prefer to buy meat products from farmers – that’s the message that Farmland Foods’ officials found out by talking with consumers across the country about its bacon packaging. In response, the company is launching a new label design for all flavors of its bacon.
The new labels highlight farm families and a “typical” American farm scene. In response to the new label, consumers say it gives them the feeling that the bacon was produced by someone who cares and takes pride in the product. Consumers say they also like the use of colors designating different flavor varieties.
Farmland officials hope the re-designed labels will increase retail sales volume and improve retail margins.
