Anyone doing the same job repeatedly can become fatigued, in which case his or her performance may suffer. Artificial insemination technicians are a prime candidate for such fatigue.

It appears that farrowing rates may decline when an AI technician is presented a large number of sows or gilts in estrus at the same time, says Billy Flowers, North Carolina State University animal scientist.

You should have strategies in place to detect and correct this potential problem. Flowers suggests developing a standard routine, including rest breaks after 10 to 15 sows. Here is information from Flowers study:
