ConAgra Foods Inc. wants consumers to better understand the nutritional benefits of their products. The Omaha, Neb.-based company has announced packaging changes to do just that. The changes will be made to the company’s Healthy Choice, Chef Boyardee and other brands.

The new nutrition guide will use the USDA's MyPyramid information with simple, clear facts to show consumers how the company's products can help them satisfy dietary recommendations, ConAgra said.

ConAgra's label design will show the amount of each key food group contained in each package. For example, a Healthy Choice Fiesta Chicken meal will have a graphic indicating that the product provides 15 percent of the grains, 30 percent of the vegetables, 15 percent of the fruit and 40 percent of the meat and beans that a consumer should eat, the company said.

Labels featuring USDA's MyPyramid will appear on more than 700 different ConAgra packages, first hitting store shelves in May.
