Though the latest figures of confirmed cases of Porcine Epidemic Diarrhea virus (PEDv) remain lower than in 2014, it is far too soon to breathe a sigh of relief.
According to the USDA, the latest figures show there were 32 positive assertions of PEDv for the week ending Aug. 22. This is significantly lower than seen at the same period in 2014 but on par with levels reported in 2013:
The USDA notes that 34 states have “at least one confirmed positive case of PEDv entered into the USDA database.”
