November was a very strong month for pork muscle cut volume, as shipments increased 19 percent from a year ago to 148,740 metric tons. Combined pork/pork variety meat exports were up 8 percent year-over-year to 181,678 metric tons.

U.S. beef exports were down slightly from November 2014, but posted their largest volume (95,799 metric tons) since June. Most Asian markets performed well for U.S. beef in November, but exports continued to slump to leading value market Japan. This was due in part to the significant tariff advantage enjoyed by Australian beef under the Japan-Australia Economic Partnership Agreement.
