An updated veterinary feed directive rule will require veterinarians to issue a prescription, not a VFD, for all medically important antibiotics administered in water.
Antibiotics that aren’t water-soluble might also be affected, if the antibiotic is on the Food and Drug Administration’s list of medically important antibiotics.
