Porcine Epidemic Diarthea virus (PEDv) is a highly-contagious virus that has since killed at least 8 million pigs. Accel disinfectant from Ogena Solutions LLC recently announced a recent news release in its role in righting PEDv.

A recent Iowa State University study found that under simulated field conditions normally seen in swine trailers, the Accelerated Hydrogen Peroxide killed 100 percent of PEDv in both high and low feces loads.

“We’re very pleased with these results and think that Accel will revolutionize the way cleaning and disinfection gets done in the food production industry”, Ogena Solutions President Dave Hachey said in a news release.

The study will soon be submitted for peer-review publication.
