The National Pork Board (NPB) continues its summer mission to bring the unexpected flavor of pork to grills across America by crashing BBQ celebrations and encouraging grillers to up their game with lean,heart-healthy pork cuts. To bring sizzle to BBQs in Dallas, celebrity chef Tiffany Derry teamed up with the National Pork Board for its ongoing African American consumer campaign, "DJ Grill Crashers," surprising a lucky winner and 35 of her closet friends with the ultimate pork flavor takeover.

Dallas resident and grilling enthusiast Tiffny Jones won the ultimate cookout featuring chef Derry and included a host of prizes such as a new swanky BBQ grill, a $500 gift card from a local grocery retailer, all the fixings needed for an unforgettable pork cookout worth more than $4,000, plus, bragging rights among neighbors.

"As a Texas native, I love to grill and when the National Pork Board asked me to help them throw the ultimate cookout with pork for a lucky family in Dallas, I could not resist," said Chef Derry, TV personality and former Top Chef star. "With pork, I am able to create a variety of  juicy, healthy and inspiring meals that are fun and easy to grill all summer long."

Derry is one of five celebrity chefs teaming up with the NPB for its African American consumer campaign, "DJ Grill Crashers," which includes a series of 'crashes' (or BBQ pork flavor takeovers) across the country aimed at making pork – including inspiring recipes and tips – the center of attention.

The campaign also aims to inspire African Americans to cook and enjoy pork in more creative and healthier ways.  Other chefs crashing grills this summer include: Chef Joseph Paire, executive chef of Todd Grays Watershed (Washington D.C.); Todd Richards, executive chef of White Oak Kitchen & Cocktails (Atlanta) and Michael Bowling, owner of Hot Box "Next Level Street Food" (Charlotte). Together with radio personalities in their communities, they are crashing cookouts and delighting fans with lean and delicious pork chop recipes and soulful side dishes.

For best results, the NPB recommends cooking your pork chops to an internal temperature between 145°F and 160°F with a three minute rest.  Use a digital thermometer to check doneness and to ensure juicy, tender chops.
