In Dayton, Ohio a semitrailer hauling about 2,200 feeder pigs went over an embankment Monday night, Ben Petracco of WLWT.com reported. He said the driver was not injured and a passenger suffered minor injuries.

WLWT News 5's Jackie Congedo reported a fire chief said 300-500 pigs were killed and 300-400 were loose from the truck.

Petracco said that an estimated 1,500 piglets survived and "several departments, farmers and volunteers helped round up the escaped piglets."
