Comedian Jimmy Fallon mocked Iowa Republican Joni Ernst’s recent U.S. Senate campaign advertisement, in which Ernst vowed to use her hog castration background to “make ‘em squeal” in Washington.
“I’m Joni Ernst. I grew up castrating hogs on an Iowa farm,” she says in the ad.
But that’s as far as Fallon – and his audience – were able to get before breaking into laughter.

Fallon isn’t the only person to call out Ernst on her unique campaign choice. Chuck Todd, the Chief White House Correspondent for NBC News, quickly noted that the word “castrating” was just the sixth word out of Ernst’s mouth in the ad:

According to the Des Moines Register, Ernst is one of five GOP candidates struggling to gain a foothold in the race to replace retiring Democratic U.S. Senator Tom Harkin. Read more here.
