#RealPigFarming is more than a hashtag. It also is an entire community with accounts on popular social media sites, such as Twitter, Instagram and Facebook, to further engage consumers with information about pork production. In March, Thomas Titus – an Illinois pork producer and one of the USFRA’s Faces of Farming and Ranching winners – is taking over.

“Hey, I'm Thomas Titus (@1thomas_titus), a pig farmer from Illinois. I'm taking over the #RealPigFarming channels this month to share stories straight from my farm. Tri Pork Inc. is a 750 sow farrow-to-finish operation that raises 12,000 market pigs per year. I also raise show pigs, where I get to work with 4-H and FFA members to help them learn and develop character values that are important both in and outside of the show ring. My wife and I have two daughters, Reagan and Lakin, who already enjoying helping with the pig farm chores. Looking forward to sharing with you this month!” he explained.

#RealPigFarming is a social media campaign sponsored by the National Pork Board. It encourages the nation’s pork producers to share photos and experiences online using the hashtag, #RealPigFarming. Click here for more information.
