The Kansas Soybean Association recently took a group of seven bloggers across Kansas and into the fields, barns and lives of just a few of the state’s farmers and ranchers to give these suburbanites a taste of agriculture.
Among their stops was Good Farms is northern Kansas. There the bloggers learned about many aspects of the pork industry, including biosecurity. One of the pigs was available for a photo opportunity, stealing the show and becoming a #RealPigFarming celebrity.
“Because when you see a baby pig, you just have to say 'Ahhhhh!' Love learning from hog farmers about the care they take of their livestock,” the group wrote.
#RealPigFarming is a social media campaign sponsored by the National Pork Board. It encourages the nation’s pork producers to share photos and experiences online using the hashtag, #RealPigFarming. Click here for more information.
