Opening the barn doors to consumers may seem scary at first, but as Emily Writer shows in a recent #RealPigFarming tweet, it's time to conquer these fears to show consumers a different side of producers activists don't want them to see.

Writer, a student at Kansas State University, showed just one of the benefits of opening the hog barn door to consumers, whether physically or digitally.

“If you take time to #OpentheBarns, this is what you'll see: farmers who LOVE and CARE for animals,” she tweeted.

#RealPigFarming is a social media campaign sponsored by the National Pork Board. It encourages the nation’s pork producers to share photos and experiences online using the hashtag, #RealPigFarming. Click here for more information.
