As Tom Landry once said, “Football is to Texas what religion is to a priest.” You just don’t mess with Texas football, but that memo was missed by a group of feral hogs.

According to KHOU News, the porcine vandals destroyed a Liberty High School football field in Frisco, Texas. The school called a local trapping company that quickly captured some of the hogs. Click here to read more.

KSAT News adds in an article here the hogs left 6-foot ruts. While part of the group was captured, more remain at large. 

"They've been coming pretty clearly every night, in the group of about 18 to 20, and they're pretty consistent, found some easy, free corn and I think we'll take care of it in about a week." said Steven Horelica, of Deep South Trapping.

There are an estimated 2.6 million feral hogs spread across the majority of Texas, and though the state has been waging war against the invasive animals over the last two decades, the swine continue to gain ground.
