To most families – mine included – ham is to Easter what turkey is to Thanksgiving. When I started to host holiday meals at my home, I realized that finding a good, go-to ham glaze isn’t as easy as it looks – especially once you’ve had a taste of HoneyBaked Ham.
Now, don’t get me wrong. I absolutely love HoneyBaked Ham, as do my kids. However, let’s be honest – that ham is expensive! In an act of desperation, I turned to the Internet for a ham that would be a sweet substitute that was easier on my wallet.
Cue this orange and honey glaze.
I’ve made this recipe for years, but I’ve also modified it to what my guests like. My side of the family likes more of a glaze than a crust, so I omit brown sugar. However, my in-laws prefer more of a crust on their ham, so I add brown sugar. Either way, you can’t lose with this recipe.
