It’s safe to say that Americans love bacon. According to market research firm the NPD Group, Americans ate 1.1 billion bacon servings of it between April 2013 and April 2014.

Thanks to CNN, here is your guide to the bacon nation, including:

  • Bacon happy hour at Bad Decisions in Baltimore, Md. – Try their bacon-wrapped Vidalia onions with bacon onion dip or one of their bacon Bloody Marys.
  • Bacon challenge at Paddy Long’s in Chicago, Ill. – Eat five pounds of ground sausage, pork and beef wrapped in brown sugar bacon in 45 minutes or less to win a Paddy Long’s t-shirt, place of the wall of fame and a free meal. But beware: nearly 90 have tried it and just six have succeeded.
  • Bacon-wrapped...everything…at The Gorbals in Los Angeles, Calif. – What can’t you wrap in bacon? The menu at The Gorbals is a true cultural mash-up, including latke and pork belly hash and bacon-wrapped matzah balls.

Bacon isn’t just being eaten, either. It has also made its way into other products, such as bacon toothpaste and bacon soap.

The bacon fad was also featured in the June issue of PorkNetwork. Read more about it here.
