Just when you thought you had seen it all, Kemin Industries ups the bacon ante at the 2014 World Pork Expo.

Forget rolling out the red carpet – Kemin is greeting visitors to the 2014 World Pork Expo with 200 feet of bacon.

According to a Kemin news release, the banner is believed to be the longest bacon banner ever produced. It will span almost the entire walkway leading into the main entrance of the expo near gates 14 and 15 of the Iowa State Fairgrounds.

“Pork producers around the globe play a significant role in meeting the global demand for protein and the World Pork Expo serves a great venue to simply say thanks to producers for their passion and commitment,” said Nicole Peckumn, Kemin marketing communications manager. “Our goal is to create a grin and acknowledge what consumer research and restaurant menus tell us – consumers love pork, especially bacon.”

Peckumn admits it’s difficult to confirm the 200’ x 4’ vinyl banner, which features the Twitter hashtags “#BaconThanks” and “#PorkProducers” is actually the longest bacon-related banner ever produced. Searching Guinness World Records and performing extensive online research revealed no results of any person or entity having laid claim to the record.
