Businessweek recently took to Twitter to see if bacon or kale, two of today’s hottest food trends, could indicate our political persuasions. As it turns out, they were right.
Looking at Twitter mentions of either kale or bacon by state, Businessweek writer Erin Chemi was able to breakdown political leanings in a map that carries an eerie resemblance to the traditional red-blue state breakdown.
As you can see in the map below, traditional “red” states favored bacon whereas “blue” states preferred kale:
Chemi suggests serving up a simple sauté of kale and bacon could create the “delicious bridge over the bitter partisan divide.” We’ve even found one recipe that could fit the bill.
