A new arrival at Vale Woods Farms in Loretto, Pa., shares a marking – and name – with Ben Roethlisberger, the quarterback of the Pittsburgh Steelers.
"We had this calf, that has a very striking #7 on its forehead, so of course living here in Steelers nation that our favorite #7 is Big Ben so we named our calf, Baby Ben," Carissa Itle-Westrick of Vale Wood Farms told WJAC News.
The farm shared the calf’s special markings on Facebook last week. It has since been shared more than 2,700 times and liked by nearly 1,900 people.
There’s no word yet from the calf’s namesake, though Itle-Westrick doesn’t think Roethlisberger will mind sharing a name.
She says in an article here, "Baby Ben is awfully cute, so hopefully Big Ben won't mind sharing his namesake."
Sadly, even the Steelers new token of good luck wasn’t enough to give them a win in Sunday’s game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Steelers lost with a score of 27 to 24.
The farms plans to give Baby Ben the spotlight when it opens its pumpkin patch to the public next month.
