Every newborn piglet here at Brenneman Pork is hand-dried with a towel, for two reasons.

One is the obvious: We want them to warm up as quickly as possible.

The other is that drying them with the towel stimulates their blood flow and gets them ready to nurse.

Once they are warm and dry, the piglets are always eager to drink milk.

Our farm provides around-the-clock 24/7 care to our farrowing sows so that every birth and newborn piglet is attended to properly. Mother Nature does not keep office hours unfortunately!
