The National Institute for Animal Agriculture will hold the group’s 2012 Annual Conference March 26-29 in Denver, Colo. The conference will be held at the Renaissance Denver Hotel and will focus on how decreasing resources and increasing regulations are making it difficult for animal agriculture to advance.
With issues such as tight credit, high feed prices and more demanding animal care standards, animal agriculture is in an important period of change.
The 2012 Annual Conference will discuss how animal agriculture can be advanced through understanding the intricacies involved with the limited resources available and continued pressure to further regulate how animals are produced.
This year’s conference features an important and interesting tour of animal agriculture along the Front Range of the Rocky Mountains.
Registration fee is $450 with a $75 discount for NIAA members and includes general sessions, seminars and committee meetings, NIAA awards reception and NIAA membership meeting. A one-day registration is available for $275. Students can register for $50 per day.
Participants on the optional tour will leave the Renaissance Denver Hotel at 7:30 a.m. on March 29 and travel via motorcoach to Greeley, Colo. for a full tour of the JBS packing plant, a tour of Five Rivers Kuner Feedlot and a tour of Guttersen Ranches. Lunch will be provided. The participants will be returned to the hotel by 4:30 p.m. The cost to join the tour is $75 per participant.
Each individual will be responsible for making their own reservations. A block of rooms are reserved at a special nightly rate of $109 for single occupancy or $124 for double occupancy on the Concierge Level until March 5.
